Transfer Agency Senior Vice President
Role Summary:
Apex Fund Services is seeking to invite applications from candidates for a Transfer Agency Senior Vice President for its Mexico City office. Apex Fund Services provides fund administration services to a wide variety of alternative fund structures in the Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Real Estate and Fund of Funds market:
The candidate is responsible for the oversight and build out of a team of 5-10 full time employees in executing the daily tasks associated with investor onboarding by liaising with AML/KYC & FATCA processors, fund accountants, compliance and treasury functions to service our client’s investors. Also including but not limited to the day to day duties of the team and ensuring client deliverables are met in a timely and correct manner. The Senior Vice President will report into the Regional Head of North America in New York.
The Senior Vice President must ensure adherence to Internal Transfer Agency procedures in addition to both internal and Regulatory AML requirements at all times.
Skills Required:
- Works with the Transfer Agency Hedge Fund Leadership team to further define, scope and articulate the details behind the strategy to enable successful implementation of key changes.
- Promote a culture of coaching, empowering leaders to develop their team’s performance on how to build high performing teams.
- Become actively involved in the development of the business by involvement in initiatives such as new business take on.
- Identifies and calls out emerging risks and potential roadblocks to successful client implementations.
- Oversee the team responsible for:
- Investor on-boarding, AML/KYC documentation & administration, and data maintenance
- Transaction processing & investor servicing
- Cash & trade settlement processing
- Bank account reconciliation
- Periodic client & investor reporting
- Client conversions
- Client change request management
- Assist in building out and training the current teams.
- Determine how to allocate resources to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Implement effective risk awareness within the team, ensuring each member of the team adheres to all documented controls.
- Promotes new thinking, creative solutions and ways of working to address issues and mitigate risks.
- Ensure control framework and documented Transfer Agency procedures and policies in line with regulations both locally and globally.
- Keep up to date on all regulatory and internal risk updates that impact the business ensuring the operations teams have the necessary knowledge and systems in place to deal with the updates.
- Managing international client relationships.
- Review, understand and can discuss fund governing documents with staff and clients.
- Providing periodic reports and feedback to senior management.
- Responsible for change management where required including Ad hoc project management (as required).
